Day Camp Staff
Camp TechWise has a personalized inspirational approach! We believe in instructor- inspired kid-centric content. Our knowledgeable camp staff design projects and challenges with your child's involvement and around your child’s interests.
Although they design each camper’s weekly plan individually (and camper’s work on their own projects at their own pace) we also have staff-lead sessions each day. Our team works closely with the leadership to organize the daily lesson plans and talking points for their instructional sessions, often splitting up campers into smaller groups as the week progresses and campers have moved at different speeds or into different interest areas.
Our Leader: The TechWise founder / director has decades of experience running youth summer camp programs with social and educational outcomes. As the person who selects, trains and mentors her team of staff each summer she chooses the brightest and brings out there best, demanding 100% commitment. She keeps the team alert and energized.
Our Camp Instructors: Staff are college students who have both youth experience and a great depth of knowledge in the topics they teach. All Staff must pass our in-person interview with our founder, and attend every session of training with full participation and enthusiasm.
We seek staff who are fun and confident, well spoken, thoughtful and patient, and who genuinely want to be with young people and help them learn and grow. We look for staff who are active in their college communities and who show leadership. We look for staff that are the kind of young adult you would want your child to look up to.
An extra pair of hands allows us to adjust things each day. Camp TechWise realizes that sometimes you’ll need to split a group in two, or take one group outside for filming while others stay inside and edit, or perhaps a staff gets sick one day! Our extra staff is a big difference in our ability to respond and adapt to what our kids need from us.
Our Recreation Leader: We hire a Recreational Specialist to facilitate the recreational periods of the day. (Most camps ask the instructors to also lead outdoor times). Our focus on “fun” is not just a break from the learning day it’s an intentional part of the camp experience! This specialist inspires our culture in every activity: sportsmanship, team work and team spirit.
Our Technology Leader: Our On-site Technology Director is an expert in all things IT. Our staff and kids have nothing to worry about and can feel free to try anything! This networking, troubleshooting, securities, programming, technology expert not only keeps us all moving without a hitch, but will help our advanced curious campers look under the hood of technology – no other camp can offer you access to this level of IT excellence!
